The Associated International
Group of Nurseries, or AIGN as it has come to be known.... is a worldwide
organization which blends the diverse talents of a number of progressive
nurserymen in the major growing areas of the world. The development
of the AIGN came as a result of a comprehensive study of the nurseries
in the world's major horticultural regions. Many of its members are
vertically integrated or at least have direct links to the other
levels of the fruit production and marketing systems of the world.
From the beginning the AIGN members have worked toward a common
goal, to meet the needs of growers including improvements in standard
varieties as well as new selections. With the establishment of
its worldwide network, members of the AIGN are able to react quickly
to world markets and new intellectual properties. In this new age
of variety management where marketing programs, inventory control
and quality assurance may mean the difference between success or
failure of an intellectual property, the AIGN has positioned itself
to be an innovator and leader in this new method of product introductions
