A SOUTH AFRICIAN MANGO VARIETY

Breeding: Mohnoembryonic seedling of Kent.

Maturity: A few days after Tommy Atkins - early season.

Fruit Size: On young trees 430 grams but increases to 494 grams on older trees.

Fruit Shape: Varies from heart to round shape, free of extrusions.

Skin Colour: Red and yellow, similar to Heidi.

Disease Tolerance: Superior resistance to Sunscorch, recommended in South Africa for warmer, drier mango production areas. Satisfactory Yields have been obtained in these areas.

Tree Growth: Tree growth spreading and somewhat dwarf - can be planted at higher densities.

Taste: Excellent taste and flavour with distinct mango character, flesh is firm but not dry. Excellent shelf life.

Yield: Six and seven year old trees Yield 13.2kg and 28.9kg.
