The Nursery is situated at Bairnsdale in south-east Victoria where the mild climate is well suited to fruit tree production. Sandy soils produce young trees with an abundance of fibrous roots, which assist with re-establishment when the trees are relocated.

History: Goodman’s Nursery was established in the late 1880’s by Charles John Goodman. The present owners, Brian and Darren Goodman are Grandsons of the founder and are committed to providing quality fruit trees to both commercial fruitgrowers and to the retail garden centre sector.

Orders
Orders, whether large of small will all receive the same detailed attention. The Nursery specialises in the traditional two year old tree. Grading is given a high priority, so Purchasers will not be faced with trees of mixed size. Contract growing orders are accepted on the understanding that notification needs to be given to the Nursery in autumn, twelve months prior to the tree being required.

Delivery
Where practicable, deliveries are made by permanent staff members using the Nursery’s own vehicles, thus ensuring that all trees arrive in excellent condition. Where this is not possible, orders are paced with sufficient wet straw around the roots and protection to ensure that even if delays occur, the trees will come to no harm.
