Disease
Resistance: Fusarium Wilt (Panama), Race 1 - some susceptibility, Race 4 - appears
resistant. Black Sigatoka - reported resistant.
Comments: Excellent tasting
Banana. Good resistance to Yellow Sigatoka. Exhibits less winter yellows than
other varieties. Reported resistance to burrowing nematode.
NOTE: This
interim data has been made available by officers from the Department of Primary
Industries who are evaluating banana germplasm for resistance to Fusarium Wilt
in order to identify resistant varieties fro growers. This work is being undertaken
by the Queensland Horticulture Institute through banana industry and DRDC funded
research projects as a key strategy for the management of Fusarium Wilt. It should
be noted that this work in ongoing and final results will not be known until the
research is completed.
