Olea
Nurseries are located in the heart of the Western Australian Karri forests which
is approximately 360km south of Perth. Its rich, friable well drained soil makes
it ideal for the production of barerooted fruit and ornamental trees. Its unique
climate enables a wide range of tree crops to be grown there including stone and
pomefruit, citrus, avocados, persimmons, winegrapes, chestnuts and olives.
History: The
Olea Nursery was founded on the outskirts of Perth in 1959 by Luigi Bazzani and
his family. With a background in horticulture, Luigi Bazzani immigrated
to the
eastcoast of Australia from Italy at the age of nineteen and after two years
moved to Western Australia. After purchasing a small parcel of
land just out of Perth
and being joined by the remainder of his family from Italy, tree production began.
The main species grown was the nurseries name sake – the olive.
The family also started growing many other species such as citrus,
stonefruit, roses etc.
In 1966 with the expansion of the city and the need of the family to find better
quality land, a property of 360 acres in Manjimup was purchased.
Products
Now with over 500 acres in Manjimup and 70 acres in Waroona, the Olea Nursery
can boast one of the largest ranges of fruit trees in Australia.

The Olea
Nursery grows 99% of its own rootstock so quality and clean material
can be guaranteed.
All
plants that are grown in ground are done so in fumigated soil to ensure
pest free plants.
Contract growing for large plantings is our speciality. Australia
wide delivery is done by our own vehicles or freight companies which understand
the requirements of handling live plants.
